Items Required For Class

Before your class begins, we'd like you to make sure that you have the following items so that the class can proceed smoothly. 

The following items are compulsory for students to bring on the first day:

  • Your TaF.tc Sewing Tool Kit - If you have not purchased it before, please refer here for the full list.
  • Your performed measurements for the shirt. If you are unsure what these measurements are and how to obtain these measurements, please check your student handbook. Students must bring all required measurements on the first day as it will not be done in class.

The following items are compulsory for students to bring only after the first day. Students are advised not to purchase any of these items until AFTER the first day as the trainer will explain them in detail:

  • Main Fabric - 1.5m by 2.3m (Fabric Types will be run through by the Trainer)
  • Lining - 1.15m by 2m
  • Sewing Notions:
    • 1. Thread to match fabric colour – Spun Polyester #60 (250-metre 1 spool)
      2. Topstitching thread (Gutterman) 1 spool – for pocket topstitching
      3. 2 buttons (2.5 cm diametre); 8 to 10 buttons (2 cm diameter)
      4. Under collar – WOOL FELT 0.5 metre
      5. TRICOT fusible interfacing – 2 metres
      6. Horsehair – 0.5 metre
      7. Flannel for chest piece – 0.5 metre
      8. Wool flannel for undercollar – 0.5 metre
      9. Reinforcement tape for armhole – 2 metres
      10. Silk thread for buttonhole – 0.5 metre (optional)
      11. Gimp for hand-sewn buttonhole (optional)

Yes! You can use any SkillsFuture Credits you have to pay for course fees.

We do not offer any make-up or replacement classes.

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!
