Objectives
  • Develop patterns for a dress base on given specifications or measurements from human body.
  • Pattern manipulation for various part of dress.
  •  Applications of top layer and under layer for various components of the dress.
  • Pattern checking of the dress against various components of the dress.
  • Label and mark individual pattern pieces with symbols and notches based on industrial practices.
  • Alignment of notches and seam allowances to match various components of the dress.

  • Conversion from imperial measurements to metric measurements and vice versa.
  • Human shapes and variations.
  • Dress variations.

  • Basic pattern block for dress.
Certificate Issuance

Admissions

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

Possess at least 3 GCE “N” level credits including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 4 and above.

 and 3

Students are required to have basic computing skills i.e. turn on the laptop, use the mouse, drag and drop files, use online search engine for research; and be a competent user of Microsoft Office.

All students must also be competent or possess equivalent skills and knowledge for the following competencies: Sewing and Drafting: Dress

Graduation

To graduate, you must fulfil the following requirements

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

 and 2

Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

International Students

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

High School Diploma equivalent to 3 GCE “N” level credits including English and Mathematics OR Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test

 and 4

English Requirement: Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 450
