Professional Conversion Programme

Many Textile, Fashion and Associated companies are looking at integrating vertically as well as horizontally to expand their supply chain, service, pre-production, production and product development. A critical challenge is the availability of skilled manpower to support these operations.  The Professional Conversion Programmes are designed to create, manage and infuse new talent into the Textile and Fashion industry to ensure its vitality and growth.

Types of PCPs:

1) Place-and-Train: PMET is hired by a participating employer before undergoing training to take on new job role .

2) Train -and- Place: Candidate is provided with training and work attachments, in advance of job placement, through industry partners in growth sectors with  future job opportunities

Train and Place Programme

It is a joint initiative by SKILLSfuture SG (SSG) and the Textile & Fashion Industry Training Centre ( that offer Singaporeans and PR participants’ competency-based training in a fashion company and equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to further their career in the textile and fashion industry.

Place and Train Programme

Given the sentiments in the fashion industry where there is major disruption caused by the Internet of Things (IoT), e-commerce, digital marketing and artificial intelligence amidst global economic slowdown, the Place and Train programme aims to reskill working adults to prepare them for job restructuring in order to take up new roles in the fashion industry. It is targeted at Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) midcareer switchers, to undergo skills conversion and move into new occupations or sectors that have good prospects and opportunities for progression.
