Objectives
  • Prepare the last for pattern making through masking for men’s and ladies’ shoe types.
  • Mark critical points and sketch out the design on the last and according to design specifications.
  • Remove the masking from the last and flatten it on the pattern drafting paper.
  • Identify the difference for the inside part of the last as per design specifications.
  • Create a sectional frame to build a design with specific propositions.
  • Make amendments to meet design specifications.

  • Anatomy of the foot in relation to the last and pattern.
  • Type of shoes and lasts.
  • Shoe size measurements and conversions.
  • Footwear constructions.
  • Techniques in masking and marking on the last.
  • Techniques in taping the last, removing the mask pattern, and flattening on the paper.
  • Sectional, net and lining pattern of the shoe.
Certificate Issuance
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be awarded a TaF.tc Certificate in Basic Footwear Pattern Making.

Admissions

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR WSQ Advanced Certificate OR WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above

 and 3

ALL Students are required to have basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office

Graduation

To graduate, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

 and 2

Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

International Students

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basic OR Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test

 and 3

English Language Requirement – Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 75

 and 4

ALL Students are required to have basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office

Graduation

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module. Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required

We do not offer any make-up or replacement classes.

Yes! You can use any SkillsFuture Credits you have to pay for course fees.

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!
