This module provides the learners with a comprehensive overview of the athletic shoes manufacturing process, so as to better comprehend the underlying issues in design, prototyping and production. Learners will analyze the various methods in athletic shoe construction and types of seam construction which will provide the designers and developers with key elements to build quality of finishing into the shoes.   • Identify and analyze different materials and leather types used in athletic shoes.
  • Compare the differences between leather and synthetic for athletic shoes.
  • Identify various types of leather and their different characteristics and performance.
  • Apply various materials used in athletic shoes’ uppers, soles and linings.
  • Determine the material suitability for different types of athletic shoes and different manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct a risk analysis of selected materials used for athletic shoes and provide recommendations for alternatives.

Admissions

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR WSQ Advanced Certificate OR WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above

 and 3

ALL Students are required to have basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office

Graduation

To graduate, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

 and 2

Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

International Students

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basic OR Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test

 and 3

English Language Requirement – Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 75

 and 4

ALL Students are required to have basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office

Graduation

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module. Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required.

Yes! You can use any SkillsFuture Credits you have to pay for course fees.

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!
