About the role
Our company is at an exciting expansion stage where we are establishing a local sewing production team. The leather sewing intern need not have direct automotive experience as he/she will be given time to explore automotive leather upholstery, as well as learn and interact with our technical team members. The intern will also have the opportunity to be placed as permanent staff, building and scaling up the production team as the company grows.

Job Description
• Support design team
o Draw sketches
o Measure samples
o Prepare sample request forms
o Source and order fabrics and trims
o Take photo of samples
o Sending packages to clients or to sample rooms.
• Photograph development or market samples on dummy to insert into presentation decks
• Creating Market Intelligence reports, Europe/USA shopping recaps and fabric and trim boards
• Printing any presentation materials needed for our clients
• Creating and labeling RFID stickers on all incoming development and market samples.
• Learn to draw technical drawings in order to prepare sample request forms.
• Photographing of samples, ironing, and compiling into powerpoint slides or excel spreadsheets.
• Learn to set up, digital scan and create link for virtual showroom for buyer’s meetings.
• Learn how to write a basic email and create email signature
• Participate in physical meetings with Ghim Li clients for more exposure
• Create fabric boards by season:
o Design fabric board (At the start of season for the month Dec and June)
o Shortlist the fabrics
o Categorize fabrics based on its construction and by mill.
o Create the information into the stickers Excel sheet. Link: SP
o Execution:
- Use a pinky shears to cut fabrics
- Cut out the fabrics using the template 10x 10cm
- Cut the whole piece for full repeat AOP (All Over Print)
o Print stickers
o Stick label on fabric
o Position on the Fabric Boards
o Seek your direct supervisor to review first, then consolidate the final review with Melissa
o For fabric that curl up easily reinforce with scotch tapes at four angles
o Paste on fabric boards
o Label outside of Fabric Boards, below are some examples:
- SS24 Mina Textile
- SS24 Jersey
o Put into fabric board cupboards (Behind Tracy’s seat near the printer)
o Use blank fabric boards when there are additional items to add on. No need to design fabric
boards.
