Internship (Local) has collaborated with WDA to develop two professional programmes designed to provide intensive training and internship opportunities to local talents looking for a career in the local or international fashion industry.

Professional Conversion Programme (PCP)

The Professional Training Programmes are designed to create, manage and infuse new talent into the Textile and Fashion Industry to ensure it’s vitality and growth.

It is a joint initiative by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and that offers Singaporeans and Permanent Residents competency-based training in an international fashion company and equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to further their career in the Textile and Fashion Industry.

The programme includes a WSQ Diploma in Fashion Technology that gives industry practitioners a nationally recognised qualification, certifying skills and work experience.

The PCP is a 10-months programme where selected trainees will study full-time for a WSQ Diploma in Fashion Technology , 2 months internship programme with a reputable companies and proceed to work placement .

Programme Structure

  1. Applicant must go for interview arranged by the company/ and secure an internship placement before the start of their Diploma programme
  2. Selected applicant will attend the full-time diploma classes at for 3 to 3.5 months (depending on the nature of the course)
  3. Bond will be signed between the applicant and WDA ( Terms and Condition applies )
  4. Upon completion of the diploma course, the trainee will be attached full-time to a host company for 2 months ( Based on calendar month ) . During this period, the trainee will gain some industry knowledge and skills.
  5. Trainee will enjoy training stipend that total up to $5,000 throughout the 3 months Diploma programme and 2 months internship .
  6. Trainee will have to work in the industry for the remaining 5 months of the PCP programme.
  7. Host companies have the first option to offer a job to its trainees and shall also facilitate the placement of the trainees into suitable jobs in the industry should trainees require any assistance.

Funding Details

With up to 95% funding, the nett course fee payable will be as follows for the different specialisation diploma course.
1. Apparel Design and Product Development
2. Footwear Design and Product Development
3. Merchandising and Marketing

Entry Requirements

  • Possess 3 GCE “O” level credit including English , Maths and 1 other subject
  • ES ESQ Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above
  • Must be unemployed throughout the period of application
  • Do not own a register company

Programme Commencement

There are 4 intakes scheduled throughout the year. Feb, May, Aug and Nov
