Institute Policies

ATTENDANCE:

You’ve signed up for a course, and there’s a lot to learn- so put in the effort and come for all your classes.

So what happens if I miss class?

Call your classmates, and find out what you missed.

How many times can I be absent?

If you hold a student pass, and are a full time international student,
you need to get to class 90% of the time (or they could make you leave Singapore!)

If you’re anybody else (a citizen, a PR, basically not the above),

you need to get to class 75%* of the time, or you won’t be able to take the assessment or eligible for the course fees subsidies.

You’ve come to learn- so come for class

ASSESSMENT:

Goal? Prove yourself competent.

WSQ assessments are all competency based, and so the assessments are
built to test your understanding, ability, and knowledge.

Every module in the Diploma Course is assessed separately.
(No big, scary end of year exam!)

You will either be graded Competent (C) or Not Yet Competent (NYC) for your assessments

Not all your assessments are exam papers.
Depending on the module it could be practical performance,  projects,
learning journals, portfolio developments etc.

Assessments are conducted in Open-Book Format!

That means you can bring in your notes.

However.

You’re not allowed to discuss with your classmates (that’s cheating)

In order to graduate, you need to pass every module.

(Don’t worry, it’s not too hard!)
Remember, you also need to meet you attendance minimum.
