WSQ Draw Digital Footwear

Learn the skills to use CAD software to draw an existing shoe and create a shoe design based on the proportions of a shoe last. Participants will be able to illustrate various shoe styles with the application of different colour combinations and finishes

WSQ Sketch Footwear Design

Learn how to sketch footwear components, various footwear styles, create 2D designs on paper, 3D designs on last and transform sketches to technical designs with details on edge finishing and stitches.

WSQ Support Apparel Product Development

From understanding the customers to the creation of designs, the course will articulate the various elements of product development and how to meet these challenges in the shortest possible time while giving the customers the right product at the right time

Prerequisite:  Student must have the knowledge of design sketches and using of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

WSQ Fit Evaluation and Pinning for Alteration

Participants will be able to apply the proper methods to pinning the various parts of the garment to indicate the necessary adjustments required or desired and would serve as a visual instructive to the sewing technician in implementing the garment alteration.

WSQ Develop Apparel Patterns and Designs Through Draping

Draping for fashion design is the process of positioning and pinning fabric onto a dress form to develop the structure of a garment design. A garment can be draped using a design sketch as a basis, or can play with the way fabric falls to create new designs at the start of the apparel design process. After draping, the fabric is removed from the dress form and used to create the sewing pattern for the garment.

WSQ Develop Apparel Patterns Through Drafting and Sew Basic Tops and Skirts
This course provides fundamental skills of measuring a human body, flat pattern drafting and basic sewing for simple collarless tops and skirt. Participants will learn how to operate and thread the lockstitch and overlock sewing machine and sewing techniques for medium weight woven fabric. The drafting involved technical methods in pattern development of various kinds of skirts and tops

WSQ Manage Quality Assurance in Textile and Fashion Industry

Participants will learn the principles of quality management, understand and interpret the various types of quality audit reports and how quality policies can impact the operational performance of an organisation. The areas of coverage include statistical sampling, defects classification, samples evaluation and report writing.

They will also be able to plan, develop footwear merchandise plan for identified target markets with regards to price, assortment and style to optimize profit.
