About Our Modules

Basic Drafting and Sewing WSQ Develop Apparel Patterns Through Drafting and Sew Basic Tops and Skirt 

This course provides solid foundation of pattern development and garment construction of basic skirts and sleeveless tops. You will learn to take body measurements, understand the relation of styles and ease allowance, develop patterns and basic sewing techniques to construct garments. This forms the fundamentals for progression, enabling you to master the basic techniques of laying fabric, cutting, sewing, edging and finishing.

Intermediate Drafting and Sewing WSQ Develop Apparel Patterns Through Drafting and Sew Basic Bottoms and Tops with Variation of Collars 

A step up from basics, this intermediate course provides knowledge of pattern development and garment construction of basic pants and tops with collars. You will learn to take body measurements, understand the relation of styles and ease allowance and develop patterns to sew the garment. You will master the techniques of laying fabric, cutting, sewing, edging and finishing.

Pattern Drafting and Sewing - Dress WSQ Develop Pattern Draft and Sew Dress

One of the most exciting aspects of dressmaking is being able to adapt a basic pattern and develop various types of dresses with elaborate designs. This advanced course provides you with the knowledge in develop different types of dress patterns, and pattern making skills and sewing techniques. The construction processes demonstrated include the sewing technique on corners, curves, lining and garment finishing.

Pattern Drafting and Sewing - Jacket WSQ Develop Pattern Draft and Sew Jackets 

Finding a jacket that fits and flatters can be difficult, even with a wide range of shops available. Push your skills to the next level by learning how to craft your own. This advanced class covers the techniques and processes used in the creation of a jacket, allowing you to create a piece that is just right.

Fit Evaluation and Pinning WSQ Fit Evaluation and Pinning for Alteration 

Learn to evaluate the fit of garment and pin garment correctly to indicate the necessary adjustments required or desired for alteration. Correct pinning serves as visual instructions for fuss free and accurate alteration. This is a useful specialised skill for you in enriching your knowledge of garment alteration.

Draping WSQ Develop Apparel Patterns and Designs Through Draping 

When draping a garment, you can see how your garment will look like on the body, and immediately correct any fit or design problems before putting the pattern down on paper. 

Draping allows you to construct garments that cannot be made through flat paper patterns and need to be draped first. It also allows you to experiment your fabric on a dress form to see how it behaves. For example, a basic sleeve can be adapted for a puff sleeve or bell sleeve through draping.
