Objectives
  • To expand the horizons of learner’s appreciation of the arts to include the jewellery.
  • To introduce important elements of jewellery to learners so that they better recognize and value the jewellery they see, and become aware of the creative opportunities available to them in the jewellery field. These elements include:
    • How jewellery is designed and what constitutes superior design;
    • How jewellery is manufactured - including hand fabrication and mass production;
    • Types of Gemstones and their value, rarity and trade
    • Types of metals, including precious metals and base metals
  • To deliver specific simple jewellery-making skills in a systematic manner such that learners can put into practice a range of knowledge gained by designing their own creative jewellery and hand-fabricating their own fine silver jewellery design.
  • To provide a fun and positive experience for the learners by encouraging collaborative discussion about designs, materials, sources for creative inspiration and uses of jewellery.
Entry Requirement

Singapore/PR Students:

  • GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
  • WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above

International Students:

  • High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
  • Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basic OR
  • Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test

English Language Requirement –

  • Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR
  • IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 450
Graduation Requirements
Students must fulfil the following requirements:
  • 75% attendance rate of total training hours per module
  • Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required.
