This module provides occupational knowledge and skills of the various techniques and concepts in the quality in the Fashion Industry, you will learn quality concept, quality inspection, what constitutes a defect, statistical sampling, testing, product safety, seam and stitch problems and solutions. Objectives
  • Measure a garment against a given size specs based on the standard point of measurement as per international and industry standards
  • Inspect garments to identify defects
  • Determine inspection sample sizes and acceptance/rejection levels
  • Identify Fabric defects based on industry standards
  • Report non-conformance or abnormalities in quality of textile and apparel products against organizational, industrial and legal requirements
  • Determine relevant solutions to quality related problems

Admissions

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

Possess at least 3 GCE “N” level credits including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 4 and above.

 and 3

Students are required to have basic computing skills i.e. turn on the laptop, use the mouse, drag and drop files, use online search engine for research; and be a competent user of Microsoft Office.

Graduation

To graduate, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

 and 2

Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

International Students

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘N’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics

 and 3

Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basis

 and 4

Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test

 and 5

Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 75

Graduation

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

A minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required

 and 2

Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

 and 3

All Students are also required for this module to produce a garment in accordance to the student's own measurements (Adult Female Figure) OR according to a standard size (M) of an adult female figure provided by the trainer.
