In this bundle of 4 courses, participants will be taught to draft, sew and finish a classic shirt, classic pants, half-lined blazer and finally a fully lined men’s jacket.

Overview

In this bundle of 4 courses, participants will be taught to draft, sew and finish a classic shirt, classic pants, half-lined blazer and finally a fully lined men’s jacket.

This particular intake bundle is aimed at trainees who are able to commit to an eventual 6-month apprenticeship with The Cutting Room 1982. Trainees who are not able to commit to this apprenticeship will be given a second priority for this programme.

Furthermore, this bundle is for students who have not yet taken any of the 4 courses with us. Students who have taken any of the 4 modules will also be given second priority to this bundle. TaF.tc will be opening up more slots for single modular students nearer to the start date of the course where possible.

Finding a jacket that fits and flatters is an uphill task so learn the art of soft tailoring for notched collar/construct and engineer notched jacket and its variations including the cardigan jacket for women’s wear. Jackets are a common feature in many ready-to-wear fashion brands, and this course is highly recommended for people who are involved in fashion designing, garment production, pattern making, product development and sewing. You will be introduced to drafting the jacket with given size specifications as well as to the process of making and sewing the jacket using the proper soft tailoring techniques and approaches adopted by the ready-to-wear garment industry. The course is conducted through explanatory drafting, demonstrations and hands-on sewing operations. Funding Period: 1st March 2021 to end Feb 2024

Certificate Issuance

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded TaF.tc's Certificate of Completion for Men's Classic Shirt, Men's Classic Pants, and Men's Blazer. Students will also be awarded the Statement of Attainment (SOA) for WSQ Develop Pattern Draft and Sew Jackets

Yes! You can use any SkillsFuture Credits you have to pay for course fees.

We do not offer any make-up or replacement classes.

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!
