 Objectives

  • Prepare trousers components for sewing.
  • Sew a casual trousers with pockets, front zipper fly, waistband with belt loops.
  • Finishing of casual men’s trousers.​

  • Adopt the methodology of unit construction of causal trousers in accordance with contemporary garment industry practices.

 Entry Requirement

Singapore/PR Students:

  • GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
  • WSQ Advanced Certificate OR
  • WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above

International Students:

  • High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
  • Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basic OR
  • Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test

English Language Requirement –

  • Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR
  • IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 450

ALL Students are required to have basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office

Class Prequisite:

Students are required to complete one of the below classes before registering for this one:

  • Develop Apparel Patterns through Drafting and Sew Basic Bottoms and Tops with Variation of Collars OR
  • Develop Apparel Patterns and Sew Bottoms

 Item Required for Class:

Before your class begins, we'd like you to make sure that you have the following items so that the class can proceed smoothly. 

The following items are compulsory for students to bring on the first day:

  • Your TaF.tc Sewing Tool Kit - If you have not purchased it before, please refer here for the full list.
  • Your performed measurements for pants. If you are unsure what these measurements are and how to obtain these measurements, please download the pdf here. Students must bring all required measurements on the first day as it will not be done in class.

The following items are compulsory for students to bring only after the first day. Students are advised not to purchase any of these items until AFTER the first day as the trainer will explain them in detail:

  • Main Fabric - 2.3m by 1.15m (45-inch) width OR 1.8m by 1.5m (60-inch) width.
  • Pocket Fabric - 1.45m by 1.15m (45-inch) width
  • Various sewing related materials. The entire list can be found here (including the fabric).

 Graduation Requirements

Student must fulfil the following requirements:

  • 75% attendance rate of total training hours per module
  • Be found competent during practical and oral assessments
Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required.
