Alteraround (Online-Transition)

Overview

AlterAround is a brand new alteration service proudly developed by TaF.tc!

With AlterAround, our sewing graduates are able to provide and offer alteration services from the comfort of their own home.

TaF.tc is developing a web application to help Singaporeans who are finding alteration shops nearest to their location, and matching them with the closest alteration personnel.

We will be partnering with our sewing vendor, to provide a loan cum purchase (sponsored by third party) for the sewing machines to help our new business owners!

For information, please visit:
TaF.tc's Sewing Alteration Project x NTUC LearningHub - AlterAround

Do note that the payment and enrolment for the 3 NTUC LearningHub courses* will be done on NTUC LearningHub website

*Pricing for the 3 NTUC LearningHub courses will vary depending on age

  • Sewing Tool Kit will be sponsored by Sing Mui Heng and it can only be provided for students who have not done TaF.tc's Basic Drafting & Sewing
  • Students will be required to collect their Sewing Tool Kit from Sing Mui Heng's store (101, Upper Cross Street, #01-36, People's Park Centre, Singapore 058357. Operating Hours: 11 AM - 7 PM, Monday to Saturday. Closed on Public Holidays & Sundays)

What Do I Need?

  • A set of drafting and sewing tool kit (Please refer to full list here)
  • Laptop (Only for students applying for online classes)

Since this is the first time you are learning how to draft and sew, it is advisable to get fabrics that are not too soft and slippery.

Solid colour fabric is highly recommended. However, please note that you clearly mark which is the face and back of the fabric. If you prefer to get prints, you must get prints that are non-directional and that you can cut in either direction. That means if you choose a dinosaur print, you must make sure the dinosaurs are looking at all different directions (up and down, left and right) and not only one direction.

Please only buy the following:

Basic Drafting & Sewing:

  1. 100% non-stretch cotton poplin for blouse
    • 1.5m (45-48 Inch width range)
      OR
