Under the government's multi-agency Local Enterprise and Association Development (LEAD) Programme to help Singapore-based players stay ahead of global competition, Textile and Fashion Federation, Singapore has proposed a series of projects designed to help its members improve on productivity and efficiency, enhance design capabilities and shorten production lead time.
One of the key projects is a Productivity and Design Development Centre (PDDC). The centre will also engage designers that have worked with international fashion houses or retailers to develop the industry's design capabilities for export markets. With the setting up of the Productivity and Design Development Centre, it will encourage more players to tap on the resources available to move up the value chain.
TaF.DC and V.Gc are the components of PDDC.
