Thomas Tan is a Design Consultant/ Trainer with TaF.tc. He is a designer who has extensive experience in the global apparel manufacturing and retail arena. He started his career working for local retailers, and had been a designer with a renowned transnational apparel manufacturer, doing cut & sew knits, and have worked with retailers and brands such as Calvin Klein, Macy’s, Mervyn’s, Dockers, Target, JC Penny, Eddie Bauer, Sears, Wal-mart etc. for the past 6 years. He is well attuned to global fashion trends as travels frequently to USA, fashion cities of Europe and Asia. He also attends major trade shows such as Premiere Vision in Paris, Intersoff in Hong Kong, Magic in Las Vegas and many others.
Thomas is a designer who is able to translate runway fashion to ready-to-wear and mass production. His close working relationship with the people from the production floor provides him an excellent understanding on the problems that the pattern makers and the sample sewers face.
