Course Description

1. Fashion Brand Creation & Brand Management

This fast paced, 2-day hands-on training is for all who wish to learn through an interactive, step-by-step process, how to create a brand, brand platform and how to manage the brand. This course is also for all looking to reposition their product in the market place. In a small group setting, participants will choose a product, and by the end of the training, they will have develop the product, select the product’s name, identify the target audience, and subsequently created the brand platform and how to manage the brand. They will develop a storyboard that visually conveys this product, the name, and the lifestyle of the consumer who is buying their product or service.

Ms Pamela Wigglesworth
Pamela has over 20 years of industry experience, working for companies like Mervyns, AMC and Colby, as well as her own companies, Sunrise Asian Sourcing Service and SeaSide Clothing, to name a few. Pamela’s global network and cross cultural experiences have enriched her understanding of the global textile and apparel (T & A) industry, making her an excellent communicator and trouble shooter able to put in perspective issues both the US retailers and Asian garment manufacturers’ face.

2. Retail Visual Merchandising

The course aims to assist retailers to better understand how visual merchandising is being used to enhance brand image, improve merchandising skills and improve sales. Participants will learn the importance of merchandise display and how it affects store operations, overall planning and executing merchandising display.

Della Ng
With 20 years of corporate experience, Della’s portfolio includes key positions in marketing operations and business development in companies including Sentosa, Wing Tai and Leonard Drake. As a professional trainer, Della specializes in retail and sales training, and communication, leadership and motivational skills. She is a certified trainer with WDA, facilitating training in core and elective retail modules at all levels. Della is also a certified life coach and NLP Master Practitioner, able to motivate and group coach participants, changing mindsets.

3. Basic Textiles & Fabric Care

This course provides an overview on fibre properties, fabric identification and fabric care. It is highly recommended for everyone who is interested to know more about fabrics and how to care for them. Participants will learn by active doing.

Ms Doreen Tan
With 30 years of extensive global merchandising and business development experience in the T & A industry, Doreen has coordinated programs across vendors and suppliers in multiple countries. She managed an annual sales volume of US$87 million at her last position as Merchandise Director in AMC. Doreen was then in the academia for 7 years as a lecturer in Temasek Polytechnic (Singapore), and is now an avid trainer and consultant with TaF.tc. She is also contracted as an International Consultant with the International Trade Centre of United Nations for projects in Cambodia, El Salvador, and India to name a few.

4. Colour & Style Coordination

This course provides participants an overview on fashion details and latest trends in fashion, garment types, silhouettes, styles and color co-ordination. It is highly recommended for all who want a career in fashion retail and sales, providing more professional and well-informed recommendations and services to customers. The course is easy to follow and attractive, accompanied by a multitude of pictorial presentations of different garment types. Interesting work activities are set at the end of each lesson to ensure that participants will maximize their learning through experiential activities and visual stimulation

Mr Thomas Tan
Thomas is a Design Consultant & Trainer with TaF.tc, with extensive experience in global apparel manufacturing and retail. Through the retailers and manufacturers, Thomas has worked with Calvin Klein, Target and Eddie Bauer to name a few. Travelling frequently to fashion cities of Europe, USA and Asia, and attending major trade shows like Premiere Vision, Intersoff, and Magic amongst others, Thomas is well attuned to global fashion trends and is able to translate runway fashion to ready-to-wear and mass production. His close working relationship with staff on the production floor gives him an excellent understanding of the problems that the pattern and sample makers face.

5. Retail Merchandise Buying

The course is designed to enhance participants’ skills in buying merchandise for retail. It is based on years of proven retail merchandising processes and buying. Participants will be getting industry standard training based on actual & factual information and techniques. With key focus on Consumer Centric Buying and Relevancy to Market Merchandising Concepts.

Ms Marie-Louise Jacobsen
With more than 30 years of international marketing experience in retailing and merchandising management. Marie-Louise has acquired in-depth knowledge in merchandising, marketing promotions and retail store operations. She was the General Manager Merchandising for Robinsons & Co. Singapore for 15 years and prior to that worked as an International Marketing Manager for the Royal Copenhagen Retail Denmark. Marie-Louise is currently the Managing Director at Retail Management Solutions Pte Ltd.
