Company profile

Textile and Fashion Training Centre (TaF.tc) is Singapore’s foremost training facility, providing specialized courses in Retail Concepts, Garment Technology, and Fashion Merchandising since its establishment in 1983. Through offering a wide range and depth of courses, TaF.tc demonstrates its commitment to ensure relevant practical industry training within the fashion industry.

Our long-standing history of working hand-in-hand with global industry experts, coupled with its expertise from an international pool of qualified professional trainers enables us to provide over 50 different courses, with new modules introduced every year. We work with some 600 trainees in Singapore and many more during overseas stints and collaborations. Training programs are customized to both the corporate sector and also budding individuals, with the aim of enhancing their industry knowledge and respective expertise, and assisting them in exploring opportunities in this dynamic industry.

International Network
TaF.tc’s global partnership with sourcing agents and offices, garment manufacturers, fabric mills and testing labs places them in an advantageous position of constantly being updated with the latest developments in the industry, and supports TaF.tc’s vision to always be at the forefront of the textile and fashion industry, and provide quality training that is highly relevant to industry players.

TaF.tc’s in depth knowledge of pre-production processes within the fashion industry enables factories to move up the supply chain through capacity development in Merchandising, Design and Product Development.  Working in close collaboration with industry associations in other countries, TaF.tc helps identify competencies and performance gaps, and provides capacity development through robust training programs.

Local Expertise
Closer to home, TaF.tc works with several of Singapore’s retail organizations in raising standards of professionalism through its wide variety of custom-designed courses, including Customer Services, Visual Merchandising, Retail Buying, Fashion Knowledge and Fabric Care.

Industry Innovators
As a visionary institution, we are always looking at addressing the needs and interests of the industry, especially so in the developing countries. In 2006, the TaF.tc Design Centre was launched, offering an array of design services, such as sampling, production of technical drawings, and deployment of designers with companies planning on setting up design and product development departments.  Another recent initiative includes the Virtual Garment Centre, which promotes the ability of factories to develop accurate samples within a shorter time frame through the adoption of the virtual fit technology.

Recognising no national boundaries, we are constantly expanding our training network, with operations now in Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Taiwan, Laos, Indonesia, Mauritius, and Romania.
