WSQ Conduct Fit Evaluation And Pattern Alteration

­­This course provides the fundamentals and criterias for conducting apparel fit evaluation which is critical in the development of the final pattern draft before the garment goes into mass production. It is highly recommended for anyone involved in the technical design and prototyping process. You will learn how to conduct fit evaluation, identify issues from the fit evaluation, and alter patterns to address the various issues identified.

Objectives

  • Identify the different types of body shapes and garment silhouettes
  • Determine garment types and details
  • Conduct fit evaluation for selected garments
  • Make appropriate alterations to the paper pattern based on issues identified

Entry Requirement

Possess at least 3 GCE “O” level qualification passes with English, Mathematics and 1 other subject or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 5 and above.

Students need prior knowledge or experience of the following competency:

WSQ Analyse Garment Construction
WSQ Interpret Pattern Draft and Sewing Sequence of Apparel
WSQ Develop Apparel Patterns & Sew Tops
WSQ Develop Apparel Patterns & Sew Bottoms


Graduation Requirements


Student must fulfil the following requirements:

  • 75% attendance rate of total training hours per module
  • Assessed and be competent for every module
Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required.


Certificate Issuance

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
