WSQ Apply Intermediate Industrial Engineering

This course is a continuation from WSQ apply industrial enginerring. You have learnt how to record and study, and now you will learn to analyse and improve the methods and time required in the apparel production processes from cutting, sewing to packing. This course includes hands on activities to conduct capacity assessment, identify unit drivers, apply simultaneous engineering approach for lead-time and cost reduction and conduct value add analysis and feasibility studies. You will learn how to measure and analyse your production efficieny, and what you need to do in production in order to optimize output and increase profit potential.

Objectives

  • Determine the Industrial Engineering structure within garment manufacturing environment
  • Identify the different cost drivers and their effects on different cost methods
  • Apply pre-determined time system to work processes
  • Identify the unproductive cost element and its effect on total cycle time
  • Determine the most economical method in setting up operation breakdown according to organisational procedures
  • Analyse and compare various production setups in relation with order categories

Entry Requirement

Singapore/PR Students:

  • GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
  • WSQ Advanced Certificate OR
  • WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above

International Students:

  • High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
  • Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basic OR
  • Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test

English Language Requirement –

  • Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR
  • IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 450

Competent or possess equivalent skills and knowledge for the following competencies:

  1. WSQ Apply Basic Industrial Engineering

Graduation Requirements


Student must fulfil the following requirements:

  • 75% attendance rate of total training hours per module
  • Assessed and be competent for every module
Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required.


Certificate Issuance

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
