What is the Place and Train Digital Marketing Programme?

The fashion industry is rapidly changing with e-commerce, digital marketing and artificial intelligence evolving the way we work in the midst of global economic slowdown. The Place and Train programme aims to help individuals acquire the skills needed by the industry and help companies acquire new talent while riding through this difficult phase.

Participating companies in this programme are SMEs registered in Singapore, and the programme will give individuals the opportunity to be a part of many facets of the fashion industry – be it making, selling, or providing services. The wide range of possibilities mean more opportunities for individuals to apply the skills learnt as part of the programme.

This 24-month programme includes 12 months of training in a range of WSQ accredited courses at both the Textile and Fashion Industry Training Centre (TaF.tc) and LITHAN and On-the-Job Training (OJT) in the participating company. This is followed by a minimum service period of 12 months where individuals will apply their skills by working in the industry.

The Place and Train programme allows you to reskill staff and acquire new talent, while receiving government support to do so over the trying economic period. This also allows you to create new career opportunities for fresh talents in the fashion industry.

This 24-month programme includes 12 months of training in a range of WSQ accredited courses at both Textile and Fashion Industry Training Centre (TaF.tc) and LITHAN, and On-the-Job Training (OJT) in the participating company. Participating individuals must also fulfil a minimum service period of 12 months where they will apply their skills by working within the industry.

For the first 12 months, participants will gain:

  • Reskilling through training in WSQ courses*
  • On-The-Job training at participating company
  • One mentorship session per month for them throughout the programme

For the next 12 months, participants will be required to fulfil:

  • A 12-month Minimum Service Period (MSP) in the fashion industry. This MSP commences after completing the initial 12-month programme. Companies are able to indicate their own terms and conditions to individuals who participate in this programme.

The WSQ Courses offered at TaF.tc include:

  1. WSQ Diploma in Fashion Technology (Apparel Design and Product Development)
  2. WSQ Diploma in Fashion Technology (Merchandising and Marketing)

iii. WSQ Diploma in Fashion Technology (Footwear Design and Product Development)

  1. A combination of any 13 WSQ modules from the 3 WSQ Diploma tracks and any other diploma level courses.

They will also be required to take a course in LITHAN for NICF Basic Digital Marketing.

Note:
All course fees and miscellaneous fees will be paid by participating company.
Under the Enhanced Training Support for SME, participating company can claim back 20% of course fees for diploma modules that are funded 70% by SSG.

  • TaF.tc shall levy an administration fee of $200 (before GST) for each successfully placed candidate who is offered a Letter of Appointment by you.
  • TaF.tc shall levy an application fee of $100 (before GST) on a participant’s registration for the diploma course or an administrative fee of $10 (before GST) on the registration for each individual short course for the candidate under the training program with TaF.tc
  • Other miscellaneous fees shall apply, which can be found in the document for companies, Annex B.
  • You must be Small, Medium Enterprise (SME)
  • You must be registered in Singapore
  • You must be from the textile and fashion industry

Salary support will be provided by SSG to participating company for a 12-month period from programme commencement date. Monthly disbursement of salary support from SSG to participating company will be managed through TaF.tc.
