Course Description

This course covers various aspects of the topics regarding fashion and style. From yarns to fabrics to garment details leading to the use of colours and how to match all these information together in a cohesive and relevant manner in order to serve the customers to create styles that will meet their needs.

Topics covered range from describing the fashion and apparel product range offered, advise on selection of fashion and apparel, advise on care of apparel to applying concepts of colour theory, advise on the application of colour theory to the product and advise customer on colour matching all aim to provide a cohesive platform for the individual to perform the job of creating a look or style for the customer.

  • Understand consumers buying behaviour, colour characteristics and fashion cycles interpret sizes across different size charts
  • Articulate silhouettes, garment types and details using fashion industry terms
  • Analyze body type and colour type of the customer and/or subject
  • Provide professional colour and style recommendations
  • Understand the make up of fabrics and yarns
  • Able to identify various common fabrics
  • Understanding the different colour concepts and its applications
