Course Description

The 5S’s were developed by Toyota and is the fundamental platform required for productivity improvement programs.  5S is a component of Kaizen which is part of lean manufacturing implementation.  Five S program benefits everyone and every company.  Manufacturing plants are the first businesses that can realize maximum benefits. However, any type of businesses from fashion retail to hospitals, or trading companies to garment manufacturers, will benefit from 5S Programs.  Benefits include reduced set-up times, reduced cycle time, increased floor space, lower accident rates, reduced wasted labor, reduce machine breakdowns thus resulting in overall improvement in productivity.
