 Upon successful completion of this course Trainees will be given WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ certifications are nationally endorsed and recognized by industry partners.

Course Description

This training provides occupational knowledge and skills for the various testing techniques applies to raw material and garment used in the fashion industry. This includes specific apparatus use, sample preparation, testing procedure, evaluation and reporting. Not limiting to why raw material and garments are tested and its implication to product quality and safety requirement. With this knowledge, it will reduce duplicated testing and waste of resources in production. Understanding of the test report eliminates misinterpretation so that the individual can make a decision in handling the materials and improves communication. 
This unit is delivered through lecture, demonstration and hands-on activities



Course Objective:

  1. Basic objectives and principles for the material and product testing for the textile and apparel industry according to established industry or international test procedures
  2. Appropriate tests and requirements for selected material and product.
  3. Prepare test specimens for selected tests according to technical manuals.
  4. Conduct tests according to established industry or international test procedures.
  5. Evaluate test specimens and data to determine test results according to specifications. Report test results and provide recommendations
