Course Description

This subject provides the individual with the broad overview of the global apparel and textile industry; its structure and dynamics of the various segments. It also provides an overview from design concept to retail floor as the impetus for the merchandiser to understand how he/she works within the total supply chain. It equips the assistant merchandiser with production tracking tools such as Critical Path Management Diagram, Time and Action Calendar, as well as case studies to better understand how to coordinate production to ensure successful delivery. Sourcing tools on how to source for information and supplies, computation of landed cost and retail mark up will be part of the program
