Course Description

This course provides a broad basic understanding in fibers properties, fabric identification and production.  It is highly recommended for anyone in the textiles and apparel industry.  Participants will experience active learning by doing; burning test, microscopic examination of fibers, color evaluation; differentiation between carded and comb cotton yarns and identification of different types of fabrics.

Who Should Attend

You may be an assistance merchandiser, merchandise manager, quality inspector, quality manager, retail buyer, designer, or laboratory technicians from the apparel manufacturing industry, buying offices, or textile mills.

The objectives for Introduction To Textiles are
