Course Description

This course provides a broad-based understanding of the importance of apparel fit evaluation in relation to the development of the final drafting patterns before the garment goes into production.  It is highly recommended for people who are involved in the production of garment samples, garment quality control personnel, designers who need to understand how clothes fit, and pattern drafters who want to improve their knowledge of patternmaking.  Participants will be involved in active learning of making pattern alterations in classroom.

Who Should Attend

Pattern makers, merchandisers, designers, quality inspectors, or sample makers.  Some prior knowledge of pattern drafting  would be preferable.

Teaching Methodologies

Lectures
Group discussions
Active learning – participants will do garment fitting on mannequins and live models.
Activities – participants will have hands on opportunities to do pattern alterations.
