Customs-Trade
Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) is an initiative to upgrade the
security of commercial shipments against terrorist infiltration by the
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the wake of September 11th
events. Being the largest and most successful government-private sector
partnership of its kind, C-TPAT has grown to over 9,000 enrolled
companies, which includes United States importers, customs brokers,
terminal operators, carriers, and some foreign manufacturers-all major
players in the global supply chain. US Customs envisions entire supply
chain, from manufacturer to carrier to warehouse provider to broker to
importer to be a C-TPAT member over a period of time. Therefore, we can
expect increasingly stringent security compliance program for
factories. |
