 Upon successful completion of this course Trainees will be given WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ certifications are nationally endorsed and recognized by industry partners.

Course Description
With competition getting stiffer, garment manufacturing is viewed as a science and not an art, where a great need for Garment Engineering and work study.  This course equips Designers and Technologists with the skills to develop, design and produce samples which are production oriented with the ultimate goal to maximize profit potential. It is essential for productivity improvement and guides the Production Management team to be more successful at their job. Without information of the kind produced through these techniques proper management is impossible.
Sewing Supervisors and Industrial Engineers will learn how to look at the way Operators are working and to improve sewing methods and set standard times for the various operations that make up the garment. They will also be able to provide Management with more information to make better decisions to achieve higher productivity, increased profitability, reduction in work content, simplified work process, greater awareness of equipment, better understanding of how folders and special attachments can influence productivity, proper production information and documentation to Management.
This unit is delivered through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on activities

Course Objective:

  1. Interpret work method study in accordance to organizational goals.
  2. Apply work method study to achieve a more economical method of performing an operation.
  3. Apply different Motion Time Study and work measurement for process improvement according to organizational goals.
  4. Apply line balancing in the production line to achieve a continuous flow for productivity improvement.
  5. Prepare management report on performance outcome in accordance to organizational procedures.
  6. Use established key performance indicators to monitor performance and take corrective action in accordance to organizational goals.
